Earthquake
Experience
Since 1994, Matthew McAllister Construction has been involved in the rebuilding
and remodeling of over 60 homes in the San Fernando Valley. These home
had a variety of structural and cosmetic problems associated with a recent
earthquake. McAllister Construction, combined with expert subcontractors,
was able to handle unique problems created by the earthquake. Some homes
required seismic work and hillside stabilization. Others needed extensive
interior repair including plumbing, electrical work, drywall repair, flooring
replacement, cabinetry realignment, appliance repair, window installation,
fireplace repair or replacement, and painting. We delivered it all.

Matthew McAllister- Contractor
Professional
Background
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in geology. He worked for British
Petroleum as a project geologist and administrator for several years,
but his interest in working for himself and his expertise in soil analysis
and slope movement led him into the construction industry in the early
1980’s. He started his own company, McAllister Construction, and
has been running it successfully for 15 years.
His technical abilities are a great asset in a contractor and were well used to rebuild the San Fernando Valley in the aftermath of the 1994 Northridge earthquake. There he served as a supervisor for the restoration of a large number of earthquake damaged homes. His excellent communication skills proved quite valuable acting as a liaison between homeowners, contractors and homeowner association board members.
Matthew has since gone on to specialize in building custom homes in the Santa Barbara area. He has recently completed 10 different custom home projects in a variety of architectural styles and has an extensive reference list of satisfied clients.
