We are 3 professional artists with extensive experience in teaching art and traveling. The inspiration to start CreArte was born out of a desire to create a space where we could share with others a love for art and the beauty of nature. Here we are living a life of creation, we invite you to share in it, while exploring your own path to that amazing and healing experience that expression offers.

Ashlie Gaos

Ashlie is an artist and art educator. She works in a variety of mediums including oils, watercolors, acrylics, wire sculpture, printmaking and photography. Ashlie spent much of her childhood in Mexico, and as an adult has lived in other parts of Latin America and Europe. After spending several years teaching art in the public school system of San Francisco, California, she began collaborating on CreArte. Ashlie has led workshops on figure drawing, painting, mixed media and sculpture. She received her BA in Studio Art from the University of California, Santa Cruz and studied art history at the University of Leeds, England. She is currently earning her masters degree in Art Education from California State University, San Francisco and is expecting her first child the Summer of 2006.

Erin Prucha

Erin received her MA from San Francisco State University in Art Education and Creativity and her undergraduate degree from the Hutchins School of Liberal Studies at SSU. She has taught workshops in creativity and the arts, painting and drawing, and has lectured in art history, including working as the Art and Culture Lecturer on a World Cruise. She has traveled extensively around the world, working in 1999 as an English professor and mural painter in Costa Rica. Erin works primarily in pastels, acrylics and oils. Her work investigates what she calls the "under-images," those images which lie just below the surface of our consciousness and yet inform our perception. She has, over the past few years, been collaborating to create CreArte, Retreat for the Arts- a dream with the aim of bringing people together in the name of art, education, and travel. Erin is currently studying Acupuncture in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Cindy is accomplished at creating images from the realistic to the abstract, but the concepts of her work usually may be gleaned in reference to metaphor, iconography, scale, even physiological response; here the surrealistic and symbolic prevail. Cindy holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara and she has done extensive course work since her graduation in the arts and language.
